Middle South Platte River Mitigation Bank's Service Area

The Middle South Platte River Wetland Mitigation Bank’s primary service area includes all of the Saint Vrain Creek and Middle South Platte River drainage basins below 6,000’ feet in elevation. Also included in the primary service area are the portions of the Upper South Platte River, Cherry Creek and Clear Creek drainage basins below 6,000’ in elevation. Wetland impacts occurring within the primary service area can be mitigated through the purchase of bank credits at a ratio of one acre of mitigation credit to one acre of impact.

The secondary service area of the Bank includes all tributary basins to the South Platte River that are not within the primary service area. Developers with wetland impacts occurring within the secondary service area may still be able to satisfy mitigation requirements through the purchase of bank credits, although the ratio will generally be greater than 1:1, and the Corps of Engineers must approve the specific ratio. Below is an illustration of the bank’s service areas as well as the listings of specific counties all or part of which are within the primary service area.

COUNTIES all or part of which lie within the primary service area:
