Birds and other animals at the MSPR mitigation bank site
Numerous species of wildlife make the Middle South Platte River Wetland Bank their home. 
Many others use the mitigation bank as a stopover in their migratory travels. Land dwelling predator species include raccoon, fox and coyote. Muskrat and fish make permanent homes in the portions of the wetland bank that retain water year around. There are numerous invertebrate species, including crayfish, dragonflies and maiden flies. Frogs and toads abound. More than 85 species of birds have been sighted at the bank, as indicated below.
